The OM651 is the OM616 of the 2010-2017 timeframe, only its about 20X better in every respect. I would agree with you generally..but! I have a 2011 GL350 and a 2012 Sprinter both of which have the OM642 engine. They are glass smooth, amazing mileage, easy to maintain but the emission stuff is out of hand. There is so many little sensors that have reek havoc, none of which are a huge deal but really nuisance items. The other thing that is of concern is with age how much will it cost to make these repairs? I dont know but there is nothing to compete with these MB diesels.
