has a sump capacity of 7.5 USg. I once had an old Jaguar that had a sump capacity of 12.5 USg.

As others have said, for a wet sump engine, more oil is better in terms of cooling and dilution of products of combustion. A dry sump engine may have less but filtering and cooling of the oil is more complicated and critical.
