Does starting in 1st gear also apply to the 1978 model? Or did these transmissions start in second? My car starts in 2nd and will only downshift into first if I mash the accelerator pedal to the floor at take of, or I can shift down when completely stopped and make the transmission go into first gear. The car is a non turbo.
