I live in flyover country here in Tulsa. My transmission on my 77 240D was having issues.. flaring between first and second and second and third. So, I went to change my transmission fluid and flilter to see if that would help. When I did, I had to make a run to the store and asked a friend to add the fluid while I was gone. So, he added Lucas stop slip to it.... a whole quart of Lucas. So, when I finsihed up, cranked the car, I had no transmission at all. Nothin.... So, I had it towed to my mechanic.

He took the pan off, saw what he described as "honey" everywhere, and just buttoned it back up. He assumes the tranny is now shot. So Now, I need to find someone to look at this transmission for me and at least confirm it's a goner. Does ANYONE know of a decent tranny guy in this general area?

Also, is it possible to flush the "honey" out?
