You have the second version of that dash control..
You have a BI control system.. providing different temperature for each side of the car... at least for the front seats.....
The end switches are for heat...
the middle is for blower....
the top center is the actual cool temperature control knob ...
the middle bottom knob should be set on max near the blue mark..
as positions less appear to allow more than 20% fresh air to be allowed across the evaporator.....
Some people in hot climates address that fresh air flap directly to restrict the flow.. causing the inside air to be recirculated with less hot fresh air input...
