Yes, turn the heater switches to the coolest setting....
the AC will turn on and off depending on that ' middle bottom knob '.... it reads the temperature in the car and turns the compressor on and off to keep the Txvalve sending refrigerant into the evaporator... ' pilot controlled ' I think they call it... you in other words setting the temperature...
If you do not get particularly cold air... or much volume of air... once you check the usual stuff like refrigerant pressures...
Then really consider cleaning your evaporator fins... as they are not usually cleaned... and are half the half the system in terms of cooling...
