I would be worried that it would buckle in the middle if a dip was hit too hard.

In a warm climate, flat black paint is ridiculous. It will cook the inside of a vehicle. Many years ago a friend of mine had primered a van with flat black paint, in N. Carolina, it was a solar oven in the summer.
