Sounds like you may have a bad ignition sw.which is located on the rear of the ignition/steering lock assembly, and a little hard to get to.It is held on with three screws,and can be reached with a short(very short)screwdriver. A mirrow will help a lot....When starting your car, make sure the key returns to the'on'position.The spring that returns the switch from the 'start' position to the'on'position does wear out.Good luck.
