722.3 B2 clearance, need opinions (video)

I wanted to get someone's opinion on measuring the B2 brake band since I find it rather difficult to get measurements with my caliper. Maybe I just need some really long calipers to get in there?

Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNoIUdm45i4

The clearance looks to me about 5 mm when I try to measure it and the band seems to be fully bottomed out if I engage it with the piston cover. I checked the amount of travel I get by moving the band with my fingers versus pressing on the B2 cover and it is the same.

My original problem is a slipping transmission in all gears except 4th. But I also noticed that the B2 piston was stucking in place when I compressed the cover trying to disassemble it. Now it does not do that since I have removed it and lubricated the piston seal and bore with ATF and reassembled. I have not replaced any B2 parts yet.

What do you guys think? I was about to order the longer 3 stripe dog bone thrust pin (126 277 73 75 / 48.8mm) since a former tech told me the standard procedure for refreshing 722.3 was to replace the original (126 277 71 75 / 47.2mm) 1 stripe thrust pin with it.
