The best answer is to get wifi out at your shop - they make range extenders that you just plug into the wall. You might be able to surf quicker out there also...

Most Verizon phone (I have an Android through Verizon) will tell you how much data you've used vs. how much you have left - but streaming youtube for hours at a time is not gonna be pretty for most people....depending on your plan.

as for getting music on your phone- if you have an iphone, the easiest/most legal way is to buy everything through iTunes, or if you have a bunch of CD's - find a computer (with a cd drive...) with iTunes and import them. then share them to your phone

for android, I just ripped all of my cd's to .mp3 (using "CDex") and move the .mp3 files to a folder called "music" on your phone. Most phones have a media player that plays .mp3's easily. perhaps others could recommend an mp3 player 'app' that is easy to use, makes playlists etc...

let us know your phone (make and model?) and we might be able to help more...
