Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've posted on this forum, and I still have too many Mercedes. I will be offering up a few of them for sale in the next couple weeks. I will start with this '77 300D.
This is a neat car that I never got the time to work on. I hauled it all the way out here to Arizona when I moved from Tennessee, and I paid too much for it originally so I'm not trying to "get back what I have in it." I will be taking a monster loss, but want the car to go to someone who appreciates it.
The Good;
Garaged since I've owned it.
Lots of updates, manual glow plug relay with pencil style plugs and coolant overflow tank
Starts and runs with medium blowby
Interior is beautiful, I don't know how or why it's as nice as it is but it's just gorgeous!
No sunroof! Very rare on US w123 300D
Windows work, horn works, cluster works, antenna works
Always been a diesel, never used for wvo conversion
Tires have next to no wear, basically new
The Bad
Transmission is definitely dying. It can still move around, but I wouldn't take it on the road.
AC/evil servo is in unknown state of limbo
Door/glass seals are toast
Some rust in the usual places, definitely nowhere near terminal rust though
Please email/pm me with any questions. The car is priced very fairly and with a little peach parts elbow grease it will be running for a looooong time. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. Under no circumstances will anyone attempt to "drive it home." You guys know the deal. Cash or cashiers check from major bank accepted. Vehicle and title will not be released until payment clears. I looked for a long time to find a 300D without a sunroof but am trying to get the number of old cars down to a manageable three.
