I installed the lemforder w126 bushings into my w123 control arms. I bought 2 sets just incase I messed up. You can use a threaded rod with washers and sockets but it will not look pretty when installed. I ended up using the W126 bushing tool to install the new bushing into the control arms, I lubed the bushings before installing. It took all of 2 minutes to press them in maybe??? If you don't cannot get a hold of the special tool, you should just stick with the stock w123 bushings from the dealer. You are only going to install them once and they will last a very long time. There is no use in saving $50-$75 when the factory bushings will last at least 10-15years, compared to maybe 5-7 years with the aftermarket ones if they are not Lemforder.

Removing the bushings are easy. Just put your control arm in a bench vise and use a sawzall to cut the endocaps off. Then use a threaded rod with sockets to press them out. Removing the bushings takes the most time.
