Mounts removed, one is completely shot, no fluid at all, the other not so sure.

Jacked engine up to remove both, replaced with wooden blocks, started up (car on blocks) - the whine/shrill noise changed pitch quite a bit, reduced by about half too.

It could be the output bearing from the box but as this too may have suffered from incorrect engine/gearbox angle due to dropped mounts.

Going to pop the starter off tomorrow to make bendix cog is functioning okay.

If the prop is removed, will it cycle through the gears as normal?
