boy this turned out nice, I completely missed that it had a 5-speed in it!
You will need to dispense with the ugly benz shift knob and get something period specific looking that compliments the art deco.
In this attached pic of my long dead 300D dash area, you can see an adapter I made on a lathe to fit an empi round knob and change the shifter knob to a variety of styles. Basically it duplicates the bottom part so it interfaces with the mercedes boot and mechanism with a couple set screws, and then switches to a common thread. I saved this for my other car. I can dig it out if a closeup would be useful
This level of completion is inspiring me to try and get my van conversion completed after a multi year stall when I moved.
