Key fob woes..

(admin, if better in another section plse move).

Spent the afternoon today with a very small soldering iron and two key fobs.

Quite a lot of info relating to dry joints and re-soldering of button legs but unfortunately this didn't help bring my backup key fobs back to life.

My second main key fob works but runs down the fob batteries after 2/3 day use. This started when I used the slightly larger (but same voltage, 3v) 2032's whilst waiting for delivery of CR2025's.

I did notice much better performance with the CR2032 but again, these ran down very quickly.

Has anyone found a viable alternative for replacement of electronics, for example swapping the chip with a new fob, lots on eBay.

Thanks folks.
