The pic is not of a mercedes part but ones for my Van Pinion.

The one on the left of the pic is the original chevy on and you notice that the center is bent out a lot.

The one on the right is the generic one I bought on the internet and notice that it is barly bulged in the middle. When I tried to tighten that one I got scared I was going to pop off the pinion shaft.

I believe the generic one is not bulged enough in the center to crush properly.

If that is a similar issue with the Mercedes the generic parts may be the issue and it might be better to use a real mercedes part.
