Could be an alignment issue. I believe the correct procedure is to loosely install and then roll vehicle forward and back to let assembly "settle" in correct location before tightening.
I have followed that procedure to fix vibration after carrier bearing install.
I am not understanding how wrong direction would cause vibration.
