The old Mercedes Roadside Assistance station wagons from the 80s used to be #929 nautikblau or gloss white. May have a history a roadside car. Far fetched, but very possible.
Jake, thank you so very much for the reply!

Drat, dyslexia strikes again...

The 280TE I am working on is the rare 904 Dunkle Blau. The roof and hood paint might not be salvageable, so having fun playing around with a pipe dream of painting the belt line crease up with a lighter shade. This also help here in the desert where having a almost black roof really heats the interior.

Interesting you bring up the roadside vehicals, as that is where got the idea to eventually paint the now wrecked 300TD-T dark green lower with the original classic white upper.

929 comes up as a metallic, that eBay wagon isn't, is it? I didn't think my eyes were that bad.

Is 929 lighter or darker than 940?

My strong preference is against metallics due to the mess. Done before and disliked, but that is what was original and what was requested.
