Just with signs of wear. The best place to detect signs of your belt needing replacement is on the "back" side, where the 5 ribs are. Look at this area of the belt in a spot in the routing where a pulley is resting one the "flat" or ungrooved side of the belt, such as the tensioner pulley. Look for cracks on the peaks of the grooves.
