And one last option just to complete the set - a servo. However, if you were for some reason to implement that you'd want a battery backup. Your throttle would be a simple potentiometer connected to something like an Arduino, which would drive the servo.....fly-by-wire
You have got to be an Engineer to come up with some of these ideas! (you clearly have the skill to pull them off though)
