How did you determine the alternator was bad? If you measured >13 V at the cigarette lighter while running, it was probably doing its job.
My first test was check the battery at Autozone and it was measuring 9.7 Volts with engine of.
With engine running I got the same 9.7 Volts. At home I connected a good battery fully charged battery in parallel with the one in the car and with engine running again I got the same 9.7 Volts. I measured the voltage in the lighter inside the trunk and got nothing as voltage. Yesterday before starting alternator removal I repeated the same tests and got the same results. From there I started the process of alternator removal but, as I said, I am stuck on wires removal. I just got home and read your reply. Thanks
The message on my multifunction display is the first one (not the continuation from page 321) on page 322 of the owner manual.
On my car the connection to the alternator is a plug style. The ones that you push and pull but as I said these plug connectors are not coming out and there are no room to add any tool to force it and also I don't want take a chance to get it broke.
Please send any other comment because I will be working on the car but also will continue checking for replies on computer.
Thanks so much.
