The upper seals on my 1980 appear to be in two pieces, front and rear, split near the rear corner of the door glass. I'm sure they shrink with age, leaving a gap. Mine are in great shape other than the gap, which I just filled with a small piece of adhesive backed foam available at any hardware store.
