I did like another 240d that had a manual but the interior was thrashed. Obviously if you can't take care of the interior the motor must be neglected. I'm also considering a 1983 300sd. The ac needs a refill and it has an auto tranny as well but has been rebuilt. One of the rear windows is having issues. Other than that the interior is very nice. I'm looking at a daily driver/ commuter car. I'm not trying to win any races but I want reliability and I'm very handy with a wrench. I have searched and read quite a bit. They seem dead even to me. I want to hear from people that own them so I can have a better educated decision. Thank you all in advance and I will post pictures the day I get whatever it ends up being. I'm in the pacific NW so no salt and hardly any rust here.

Welcome to the forum.
People can usually help more if they know what country you are in. If in the US, which state.
Some people have parts which they may want to get rid of, like whole interiors. Might change your buying ideas.
