Shifter position is what mechanical position the shifter is in. ( You could check this by probing the shifter wires by removing a plug from the trans computer. I believe the attached chart to be accurate. )
Requested gear is what gear the trans computer wants the trans to be in at any given moment.
Actual gear is what gear the trans is currently in.
