It turns out that the radio comes with an adapter installed. The installed adapter takes the newer style antenna connection. That adapter can be pulled out so that the older style antenna connection works. No need to buy any antenna adapter.

The unit sat flush just fine, it is not as deep as the Becker it replaced.
