Many people have high milage diesels and don't know anything about diesel oil. They change their oil every 2500-3000 miles using gasser 20w-50 or 10w-40. You should be fine. Just follow the severe service schedule and change the oil by 2500-3000. If the car smokes I'd change it sooner than that.
