Cam Chain Guide Rail Pins

I am in the process of removing the head on my Mercedes 99 E300 TD. I have subscribed to ALLDATADYI.com and have read several threads here. So far I cannot find the answer to... Where are the cam chain guide rail pins.

All the threads I've read here, including ALLDATA, do not show the same engine I have. They ALL show the four or five cylinder; mine is the straight 6. It is very similar but not quite the same.

I have the cams out and I am ready to remove the head bolts; but first I need to find the lower right guide pin. I've removed the top right pin and the lower camshaft housing. I removed the vacuum pump (no pin in there.)

I am wondering if the head will come off with the guide rail intact. The lower pins are somewhere in the cylinder block, not anywhere in the head.

I will get some photos up soon. In the meantime, if anyone knows the answer to these questions I would greatly appreacite it!
