I don't have a problem paying an "A/C professional" to do the job, only I'm not really sure how to find one that does the work (other than just calling around - the company doesn't maintain a distributor list, oddly). Of course, if it's somehow obtainable and DIYable, that'd be even better.

Any mechanic with 609 certification should be able to do it. It's not a complicated procedure...but they won't sell it to anyone without a 609.
HOWEVER, when I bought it years ago I was able to buy it directly from a distributor in Oklahoma. You might call around to distributors and see what you find.
It's good stuff and it works.
