The upper pin was not threaded on the outside, it is smooth. So, I made a little puller and it slowly came out. (I did use some spray liquid wrench.)

Isn't the lower pin smooth on the outside also?

I sprayed some liquid wrench on it; I'll let it set overnight and try using the same puller method as I did on the top one; assuming it is smooth; held in by tightness.
