On my w126 I seem to recall it being down in the recess under the fusebox. I had to replace mine once. My indy told me not to replace it - to jumper it over. Its purpose I was told was to make a second (lower) speed for the aux fan. Jumping it over would have the effect of making it high speed only. Well I ignored my indy and decided to do it the 'right' way, and the damn thing only lasted a few months before it blew again. It was such a PITA to get to that I really wish I'd just jumpered it over. At any rate, your milage may vary but as far as I know there is no reason it can't be bypassed (jumpered).
