Pull the passenger side lower trunk lining out and examine the wires the run down the trunk hinge cover. You most likely have insulation worn from years of opening and closing trunk. This is very common W210 hick-up. This is why they didn't run a wire to inside brake lights on US models you just have a dummy hole.....or its been said anyways
