Avgas (usually 100LL) has lead that will foul up your spark plug, spark arrestor in your muffler, exhaust valve, etc. I wouldn't use it in anything not designed for it, and even then, engines like the Lycoming O-235 have issues with lead buildup.

If you want the best (and most expensive) 2-stroke gas you can buy, go to the hardware store and buy the half-gallon cans of 2-stroke gas. If you're only using your trimmer or chainsaw whatever occasionally, you won't use much of it.

Sometimes marinas get ethanol-free gas, you can call around and ask.
