I generally buy small parts from the dealer just because I prefer face-to-face contact to telephone or internet ordering. The parts are not much more and there is no shipping cost. My last MB brand fuel filter for my '98 diesel was made in South Africa. Lots of stuff they sell is made in countries other than Germany.
