[QUOTE=Maxbumpo;3736126]That does sound pretty loud to me.[/QUOTE

Yes I was wondering if it was just his recording level. The engine seems to catch clean and easy though. No rod knocks there I could hear. Idle seems high to me but again that is just perception perhaps.

I might check the injection pump timing just in case a previous owner has advanced it more than he should have.

To me at least it is hard to determine what I hear many times. At least on these posted sound bite videos. On the 616 engines I understand many have said they were quieter with good fuel supply pressure to the injection pump base.

They will run not bad with lower pressure. They just run better with normal pressure. These systems are very old and may never have been checked. I like to see the fuel pressure in the 14 to19 pound range. The service literature recommends very infrequent checks but I imagine there are lots out there that have never been checked. Proper fuel pressure also gives a little more power or at least the sensation of it.
