Hate to contribute to an oil thread but ....

My 560SL (same engine) was very happy with a synthetic 15w-40 diesel oil. The diesel oil has a high ZDDP (zinc) content which I think those engines crave. My choice is AMSOIL and my interval is 6000 miles.
