While in SoCal we went to see a labor day weekend concert at the Hollywood bowl. John Williams conducted the LA Philharmonic.
This was the second time I have seen him. The first was in Tucson when I lived there in the 90's. I remember taking a date and she was not impressed. Last time we went out. Nuff said.
This time was not different .... except my date (my wife) loved it .. guess I'll still keep her. He shared the stage with the conductor of the LA Phil and they played some nice music.... be we were all there for Mr Williams . After intermission he came out and we all pretty much lost our minds. The bowl was filled to capacity ...17,500 people. Anyway, he played a montage of stuff ... very cool and then came Star Wars. He played the Throne Room song and we (all 17,500 of us) lost our minds. It was exactly what I expected and hoped for. Yes.... I am kind of a dork/geek and I am proud of it. There is little that can compare to the composer of music/movie you love actually conducting a top flight orchestra that is playing the music. Suffice to say, I was not the only dork/geek there.
Those are all light sabres in the picture.... the force was strong with us. I must say that was one of the best evenings I have had and it is something I can scratch off my bucket list.
