Hi all,

I could use some W123 help. My recently acquired 1984 300D, my sixth W123, needs both rear CV shafts and I'm having the damndest time finding the right replacement parts.

Hearing all sorts of things re different parts numbers/types/availability and none of them are good - some are saying the parts are VIN-specific, some say these shafts are common and have gone into dozens of models - almost everyone says they can't get them. Homokinetic or not/MB conversion kit or not etc etc etc...only thing everyone agrees on is the left and right are identical/interchangeable so you don't have to buy them separately.

that the local dealer say should fit this car - of course, they're $850 each from the factory. I'm okay with going aftermarket/reman provided they're the right fit.
