I would think that structural damage to the wing, control surfaces or a cabin breach would be a bigger concern. The fact that it seemed to break off clean and not cause any more damage is a huge stroke of luck.
The hard part now is to figure out what the hell happened. Unless someone happens to find the front of the engine (who knows how many pieces) all they have for forensic analysis is the remaining parts. I am guessing the GE techs will be earning their money to find the problem(s).
