My '83 300D has a broken adjustment nut on the Bowden cable. May be partially responsible for the car shifting at <1500 RPM.
Appears that these Bowden cables aren't being made any more. Mercedes shows 0 domestically or in Europe, and no options online for the correct PN (1263001730) for the '83 300D; mboemparts.com show one available but cancel the order as soon as it's placed.
Has anyone attempted to use a cable from the '87 300D with the same transmission number (722.3xx)? ********az has cables for this transmission, but it doesnt show compatibility w/ the '83.

Any other sources or workaround, other than pulling a used cable off another vehicle?
