Funola - new printers are infamous for coming with introductory ink cartridges; that means that they have quite a bit less ink than a normal replacement cartridge. Not illegal and quite well known. Also you should disregard the notice from the printer that your ink has run out; generally you have at least 20-30% left in the cartridges when the message shows. Just run them until they stop printing; does not hurt a thing - in fact instructions tell you to hold one of the buttons down for maybe five seconds to be able to continue printing temporarily. I do it all the time.
