I have 2 laser printers, one is monochrome, the other is color. I never print anything in color, so the color one is packed away in a closet. The monochrome is a HP P1606dn, which was under $100. Has an automatic duplexer and a LAN port with optional WiFi. I have it next to the router, so I don't have to waste my time with flaky WiFi. I've had the printer for 4 years and still have never replaced the toner cartridge. Never dries out, never clogs, and if kept out of the sun or high heat, will last for years of intermittent use.
