97 C280 / 99 C230 with 722.6 have electronic speedo through CAN bus.

Speed CAN message is generated by the ABS / ASR module using ABS wheel speed sensors. It is somewhat unclear if the speed CAN message is an average of all wheels or a specific wheel. I'd tend to think is is an average / highest speed to allow speedo to operate if a sensor is lost.
