Probably just gummed up with old lubricant.
I had the same problem with 'Rena 2.0'.
I thought I had a broken tumbler.
I removed the door handle with tumbler, cleaned it out on a bench with a spray cleaner (Brakleen?) while working the key.
The key could finally be turned after a few minutes but was still notchy, and it would seize up randomly.
A spritz of lock lubricant, and further working of the key got rid of the notchiness.
Reinstalled the door handle and enjoyed the fact I no longer had to unlock the car on the PS and reach in to manually unlock the DS door from inside the car.
Edit: Ooops!! Misread the original post. I gave my cure for a key that does not turn in the lock.
If the key turns but the door fails to open, then the drive pin to the door lock has sheared or is not correctly adjusted.
