I know this is kinda old but, the gen 2(86 and up) 300sl has m103 in it. The m104 will bolt in with those mounts. Not saying there won't be any issues with the big headed m104. The subframe should be the same, it's the same on early v8 and 6 cars. The mount arms may even be available from Mercedes still.
