I like Waze because it gets its traffic data from people currently using the app.

But I will say, it occasionally plots a course that defies reason. Unfortunately, I don't figure that out until I have an opportunity to pull over and study a map on my phone. So I try to take a few minutes and look at a map on a large screen before I head somewhere unfamiliar.
