The flex-plate, and the flywheel/ring gear (if separate) must have bolt patterns that match the engine crankshaft as well as the torque convertor. The existing flex-plate assembly from the 606 obviously fits the engine. Does the flex-plate bolt pattern for the convertor match the intended use convertor?
If you feel that a 722.4 is not strong enough, consider using a 722.3. Keeping an all-hydraulic transmission is much easier than the sorting out process involved in adapting an electrically controlled transmission that requires feedback that a G-wagon may not be equipped to provide.
