Interesting! It's not clear to me that this part is the plastic channel I'm talking about. In my case, the bottom edge of the glass is free (not bedded in the sealant bonding the glass to the frame). There are two plastic channels (one on each side of the monowiper) that push up and clamp to the edge of the glass (one channel) and then there is a second channel in the each plastic piece that is at a 90 degree angle to the first, so it is pointing out (perpendicular to the surface of the windshield). The rubber molding strip has a bead which gets pushed down into this second channel.
