You broke the wiper trans.
The trans needs to be checked via SDS for adaptation, anything over 175 indicates a "loose" clutch pack, if the adaptation in normal (under 100) and the fill times are high, leaking apply piston seal. There have been too many updates to list on the 722.6 trans and 97 has the early unit. If it needs going into, just replace it with a reman as it'll have all the updates. However, you've just about got to replace the ETC.6 control unit as well to match the updated valvebody.
