Why produce programming or pay for programs to air overnight when there is little to no audience? They make money by selling the airtime and usually get a cut of the sales as well. That held true in the past, but as I said, I'm seeing info-mercials creeping into what I'd call "normal" viewing times. When they ran them at night, it only bothered me when I was working swing shift and wanted to come home and watch a bit of the idiot box before I went to bed. Now I see the crap during the day, and even occasionally during "prime time".
And TV stations wonder why they are loosing viewers! They then come up with these survivor shows.
Oh well. (sigh)
