The right answer is that you'd have to calibrate the speedometer, but that's probably more than you want to deal with. You should be able to get pretty close by observing the bends in the spring. It should have been bent to about 120 degrees where it enters the block, and will be indented where the pin held it in. If you can't find those marks, post and I'll try to explain how to calibrate it with an electric drill.
